All of our designs are informed by the idea that any development project is inexorably linked to the ecosystem it is a part of and that an understanding of water movement is the foundation of any solid design. By recognizing the importance of the larger ecosystem and viewing development projects holistically rather than reductively, we create designs that are not only beautiful and functional but also sustain bio- diverse ecosystems or work to repair unhealthy ones.

Every landscape has a unique microclimate and corollary set of resources and challenges.  By understanding both the assets and the liabilities of a given project area from an ecosystem perspective we seek to integrate human development and agriculture into existing ecosystems in such a way as to promote ecosystem health, ecosystem service functions, and regeneration of soils and habitats. Our designs strive to move towards sustainability of human land use through the use of appropriate technologies and resource conservation.
